Diary 2008

25/12/08: Burning Man movies finally finished

Click HERE to go to my Burning Man page and view the movies I have put together of my week at Black Rock City.

5/12/08: Burning Man London Decompression & 6/12/08: Climate Change march

A double whammy in London with the Decompression night until 3am then a climate change march from Grosvenor Square to parliament Square on power stilts. Knackering weekend in all :D

22/8 to 3/9/08: Las Vegas, Lake Tahoe and Burning Man 2008

A life-changing trip to the States for me and a day at Tahoe, a day in Vegas, then a week in the Nevada Desert for BURNING MAN. Bloody awesome :D CLICK HERE to go to my Burning Man page.

21-22/6/08: West End LIVE @ Leicester Square

A fantastic weekend in the heart of the West end with 20,000 people, an open stage and all the theatre acts performing, and us on the ODEON balcony :D Photos HERE.

20/6/08 Bryan Adams LIVE @ Newmarket Racecourse

OMG what a FANTASTIC gig and a great view of the stage. I'm going agian in october and this time I'll be the girl to get on stage with him and sing, I swear it right now!! Photos HERE.

24-25/5/08: London Expo @ The ExCel

A gruelling Ghostbusting troop where I was lucky enough to meet Ernie Hudson "Winston Zeddemore", a giant inflatable Mr Stay Puft and ECTO 1. Click HERE for pics

25-27/4/08: Whitby Goth Weekend

My first outing as Ghostbuster "Dr Smith" with the Garrison. Many cries of "Who ya gonna call!!" as I walked around by day, and then vampire fangs and cyberlox by night! Pics HERE.

Powerbocking for charity again!

When I'm not chained to my sewing machine or being a Sandtrooper/Ghostbuster, one of my other interests is Powerbocking, or "jumping about on power stilts". If you've never heard of Power Stilts then click HERE to see them being used to their full potential! You can run at 25mph, take 9ft strides and jump 6ft in the air. Oh what pure, dangerous fun :D

In March I did the Sport Relief Mile (twice!) and raised £247. On 1st June I'll be in London with another group of Bockers for the "Walk for Life", in aid of Crusaid.

Crusaid has spent the past 22 years helping people who are affected by HIV and AIDS and living in poverty, in both the UK and Africa.

Their vision is a world where people living with HIV and AIDS can live with dignity and have a decent quality of life, whatever their circumstances.

Since 1986, they've raised over £26 million and supported over 1,000 projects in the UK and Africa. One in three people diagnosed with HIV in the UK have been helped by Crusaid’s Hardship Fund.

With around 70,000 HIV positive people in the UK, and an incredible 22.5 million people living with HIV in Africa, Crusaid is needed now more than ever.

I'll be bocking in full Cyberpunk gear or Ghostbuster gear (with inflatable Proton Pack) - or if it's gonna be too darn hot I may plump for the black hotpants ;o)

19/2/08: RIP Winston :(

The Supermodel of Fuzzbutt has gone. At 2yrs 4 months Winston was a grand old man, who had been in steady decline and had lost his appetite the past couple of days. The vet said that there was nothing really I could do and that he was just old, and to make sure he was comfy.

He was wrapped up in his towel on my knee as I was eyeletting some Crushes on 19th Feb, and I talked to him and stroked him as I was working, and got a couple of pics on my phone. I took him downstairs and put him in his cube while I went to get his food, and when I came back I reached into the cube and he'd gone :( I'm so gutted I wasn't with him when he passed, but so glad I didn't have to take him to the vets to be PTS, and SO glad he spent his final few hours with me on my knee being tickled and talked to. RIP my sweet squishy gorgeous boy :*(, Fuzzbutt is lost without its Supermodel.

My usual morning greeting from Winston

Winston is on the right working on my finger!

22/2/08: Bocking in Norwich

The EA Bockers took over Norwich when 25 of us bounced into the City and showed people what we do! We made the EDP daytime and evening edition too, and got a lot of interest in our power stilts. Click HERE for pics!
